ICELW 2012 Proceedings Foreword
Dear Reader:
This proceedings CD contains the papers from the International Conference on E-Learning in the Workplace (ICELW) 2012, which was held on the campus of Columbia University in New York from June 13-15, 2012.
I founded ICELW in 2008 with the goal of bringing together research and practice, in order to improve the ways in which technology is used in workplaces for the purposes of improving job performance. As ICELW is now in its fifth year, I have been pleased to see growth in the field overall, as well as collaborations springing forth based on past ICELW events.
ICELW 2012's program continued to build on previous ICELW conferences, with an increased focus on demonstrations of e-learning work along with research studies, and a variety of excellent contributions given by presenters from around the world.
I am looking forward to continued contributions in upcoming years in a variety of areas: applying research in areas including education and usability; inventing and creating new pedagogical models that are suited for technology-based approaches; and, as a whole, merging and integrating the art and science of e-learning and performance technology design.
This proceedings CD contains all academic papers that were accepted into ICELW 2012. Since ICELW mixes academia and the business world, our proceedings CD also includes, in addition to academic papers, presentation slides from those presenters who chose to include them.
I hope to see you back in New York for ICELW 2013, to be held at Columbia University once again, from June 12th-14th!
